Orange BRANCH
Western NSW Region
Can Assist Orange was formed in 1956. The branch is dedicated to supporting anyone in our community affected by cancer. We understand that following a cancer diagnosis, families can struggle with associated costs. By keeping the money we raise locally, it stays local, so we can help with direct financial support when needed most.
Local community support is available and we cover accommodation costs when the need arises to travel for treatment or doctor’s appointments. We can assist with information on transport services delivering patients to treatment, free will service by a local solicitor or a lawn mowing service. We also sponsor the Orange Wig library.
Areas Serviced: Ammerdown, Belgravia, Bletchington, Bloomfield, Borenore, Bowen, Cadia, Calare, Canobolas, Cargo, Cheesemans Creek, Clergate, Clifton Grove, Cranbury, Cullya, Four Mile Creek, Glenroi, Huntley, Kaleentha, Kerrs Creek, Lewis Ponds, Long Point, Lower Lewis Ponds, Lucknow, March, Mullion Creek, Narrambla, Nashdale, Ophir, Orange, Orange East, Panuara, Pinnacle, Shadforth, Spring Creek, Spring Hill, Springside, Suma Park, Summer Hill, Towac, Warrendine
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and supporters both from within the community and further afield. We thank them for their contribution.

5 year old Tommy Gill from Glen Innes woke up very pale in colour and with notable bruising.
After a visit to the doctor, he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that afternoon and diagnosed with Leukemia.
This was the beginning of a long treatment journey.
Distance should be no barrier to treatment. Can Assist supports rural and regional cancer patients across NSW access treatment.
