A home away from home for cancer patients who travel long distances for treatment.
317-321 Edward Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650  |  T (02) 6925 5240
Purpose built by Can Assist and Cancer Council NSW.

Lilier Lodge acknowledges the traditional custodians of the Wiradjuri land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging.

PURPOSE BUILT WITH YOU IN MIND

Lilier Lodge opened in 2004 and was purpose built by Can Assist and Cancer Council NSW, together with the great support of local and regional communities. It is a not-for-profit 21 room accommodation facility which assists over 1400 people each year. It provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital. When vacancies allow, we extend our hospitality to people travelling for other medical appointments.

"Many thanks ...

… for making Greg’s stay so welcoming. I also enjoyed staying at Lilier for the few times I had to stay. It was great to see Margaret & Keith at the re-launch yesterday. Thanks again for your friendship.” N King

AN ACCOMMODATION AND DROP-IN FACILITY

Lilier Lodge is a home away from home and safe haven for their many guests, and offers comfort, serenity and support for people during a very stressful time in their lives. The Lodge also provides a drop-in service for cancer patients who travel daily for their treatment, for community transport drivers while waiting for clients, and is a meeting place for local volunteers and community groups.

"Thank you Lilier Lodge...

…particularly Margaret, Alison & fellow inmates for making our stay at the lodge as comfortable and homelike as could possibly be, during a health hiccough at this stage of our lives. Coralie and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship and support during our 5 weeks’ stay.”  Robert & Coralie

A family member or carer can stay with you

If any guest requires assistance with any aspects of their daily living, then they will need to have a carer stay with them, as our staff are not able to provide personal care assistance.

At Lilier Lodge we also take the safety of our guests very seriously due to their compromised immune systems and, to that end, we are a registered COVID-19 Safe Business.

"How fortunate we all are...

…to have a literal ‘home away from home’ like Lilier Lodge to help us at this extremely traumatic time in our lives.”  Mrs G Hay

VISITORS ARE MOST WELCOME

Guests are most welcome to have family and friends come and visit while staying at Lilier Lodge.  As well as guest rooms, there are garden and communal Lounge and Dining areas that can be utilised for spending time with visitors.

"We cannot thank each of you enough...

…for your care and compassion in making our 8 weeks’ stay in Lilier Lodge so enjoyable even though the reason for our being here was a big shock to us both. We have been early supporters of getting the lodge up and running, and now realise the real benefits of staying here.”  Keith & Margaret Bryce

It is important to value our Volunteers at all times but especially so during National Volunteers Week.
A special Afternoon Tea was held on Thursday 18th May at Lilier Lodge to recognise, celebrate and thank not only Lilier Lodge's Volunteers but also the local Cancer Council NSW Volunteers and the RCCC Bus Drivers.
The positive difference and support provided to our guests and clients by our volunteers is immeasurable.
Thank You

LEST WE FORGET

Lilier Lodge is a proud supporter of the Legacy Club of Wagga Wagga.
Every year Legacy volunteers come and 'trim' Lilier's Rosemary bushes so they can use the cuttings for the Wagga Wagga Dawn Service at the Victory Memorial Gardens on ANZAC Day.

Our Joint Fundraising High Tea with Can Assist Wagga was held recently at Food I Am and was a wonderful day.
Thank you to all who attended in support of Lilier Lodge and Can Assist Wagga. Everyone enjoyed themselves despite it being the hottest day in March for a very long time.
Thank you to Food I Am for their hospitality and great service. Also, a big thank you to Kapooka Band Jazz Ensemble.

Host a Dinner

The Community Dinner Program commenced in 2017 and is an outstanding success overseen by our wonderful volunteers Lyn & Jim Gibson. The programme operates together with local organisations and groups in hosting a weekly dinner for the guests of Lilier Lodge. The dinners are held each Wednesday night from February through to December and allow guests to come together and enjoy each other’s company. The sound of cheer on these nights is priceless in what can otherwise be an isolating period in the journey fighting cancer. It is lovely that guests are treated to this meal once a week and can be looked after by the community in this way.

Hosting groups inform us that the Community Dinner at Lilier Lodge is a very rewarding and fulfilling program to be involved with. We look forward and value the support of any interested groups who wish to participate.

If you require any further information about the Community Dinner Program or if you know of any other groups that might be interested in hosting a dinner, please contact Lilier Lodge on 6925 5240.
