After a throat cancer diagnosis, Mal was told he needed to travel to Sydney for treatment that would most likely save his life - 375 kilometres away from Lake Cathie – that’s a 750km round trip.
The cost of fuel, travel, accommodation and time away from work nearly stopped him from going.
