Moree BRANCH
Hunter New England Region
Can Assist Moree was formed in 2009. Our branch assists cancer patients from Moree, Bingara, Mungindi, Bellata, Warialda, Collarenebri and all places between. Our assistance is varied from travel and accommodation costs, paying for nutritional supplements and chemist or medical bills. We work closely with the local Community Health Social Worker and Dietitian.
Areas Serviced: Ashley, Bellata, Bingara, Boomi, Bullarah, Collarenebri, Coolatai, Crooble, Dinoga, Garah, Gurley, Keera, Mallowa, Millie, Moree, Moree East, Terry Hie Hie, Thalaba, Tikitere, Tulloona, Upper Bingara, Warialda, Warialda Rail, Yarraman
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and supporters both from within the community and further afield. Can Assist expresses our thanks.
Our most consistent donors are the staff of Moree Plains Shire Council who donate fortnightly through a workplace giving program.

5 year old Tommy Gill from Glen Innes woke up very pale in colour and with notable bruising.
After a visit to the doctor, he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that afternoon and diagnosed with Leukemia.
This was the beginning of a long treatment journey.
Distance should be no barrier to treatment. Can Assist supports rural and regional cancer patients across NSW access treatment.

If Karen and her husband were living in any other state or territory in the country they would have received a higher rebate – in fact, up to $72 a night higher.
On average, a resident of country NSW will receive $42.32c less a night than the rest of the country. What a disgrace!
Thank you Dr Joe McGirr MP and Helen Dalton MP for helping to bring this injustice to light.
