Tumut Branch Summer 2025-26 Highlights

In November, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming motivational speaker Emily Somers from Bravery Co. to Tumut. Emily generously shared her cancer journey and recovery.

Around 30 ladies joined us for the evening, many of whom related to Emily’s emotional rollercoaster and the powerful life lessons she has learned along the way. Her message also offered comfort and encouragement to those supporting friends, family members, or clients on their own journeys.

Steph and Duke Smyth from Adelong chose Can Assist Tumut as the benefitting charity this year for the Adelong Melbourne Cup Calcutta Auction, held at the Royal Hotel in Adelong on Sunday, 2nd November.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the auction raised an amazing $1,636, which was presented to Maria Contessa, our new Adelong Co-ordinator for Can Assist Tumut.

Each year, Tumut High School students generously donate a dog kennel for our Christmas raffle. This special kennel is built by Year 11 construction students under the guidance of their teacher, Bill Crain.

The Tumut Branch deeply appreciates the time, effort, and skill the students put into building the kennel.

At the presentation, Deb Robinson from Can Assist Tumut thanked Mr. Crain and the students for their dedication and generosity. Appreciation was also extended to AKD Softwoods and Tumut Building Supplies for donating materials that made the project possible.
