Tamworth Crowing for a cause
Dawn was well past, but that did not stop the sound of roosters calling across the forecourt of Ray Walsh House in Peel Street, Tamworth, as people lined up for a chance to be “loud, proud and fowl” in the name of a good cause.
There were few feathers, but plenty of two-legged “roosters” lining up to take a stab at the chance to be named Tamworth Country Music Festival’s King (or Queen) of the Roosters and raise funds for Tamworth Can Assist.
The competition made its festival debut on Saturday, January 18. Additional rounds were staged on Sunday, January 19, and Wednesday, January 22, all culminating in a final “crow-off” this Saturday, January 25.
