Narrendera 2026 Header Drivers Convention

Narrandera Header Drivers Convention has attracted a record number of sponsors for its 2026 event to be held on Friday 6 February at the Narrandera Race Club.

Its fund-raising efforts are for Can Assist Narrandera and this year it hopes to better the $32,850 it raised last year. In 2024 it raised $28,000 and $25,322 in 2023.

Chief organiser Neil Seidel said he was delighted that more new sponsors had come on board – Leeton Home Improvements, McGrath Riverina, Deep Creek Renovations, Painting Farming, Hewitt Cattle Company, Tarcoola Turf, CBOR Pty Ltd, Betta Electrical and Eddie Ratcliffe Fencing.

“It just keeps on breaking records in attendance and sponsorship,” Mr Seidel said.

Header Drivers Convention major sponsor Shane Mathieson of Riverina Ag Repairs Narrandera has come on board yet again for the 2025 event.

Mr Seidel said it was the generous sponsors who made the event possible, as did the people who attended the function itself.

“It’s a terrific way of raising funds for a very worthy cause and at the same time its an enjoyable night for all who attend. We plan to continue this fundraiser for as long as possible.”

Narrandera Can Assist president Neta Close expressed thanks to the organisers, sponsors and everyone who attends and assured everyone that the funds would be put to very good use again this year.

It was a chance encounter in the street between Neil and Neta which resulted in Neil offering to donate all the convention money to Can Assist and the fund-raising tally has grown annually to tens of thousands of dollars.

“The money raised helps to provide cancer patients with financial help so we are extremely grateful. It was great work by the organisers and then they just handed the money over to Can Assist,” Neta said.

Neil said it was the sponsors and their generosity who also deserved commendation.
