Leeton’s Can Assist takes a ‘can do’ approach to fundraising challenge

Raising money for Leeton’s cancer patients and becoming fit at the same time has been a goal for one group this month.
Leeton’s Can Assist branch has been participating in the “Can Do” challenge throughout August.
An initiative of the Can Assist head office in Sydney, this fundraising challenge helps deliver vital funds raised for local cancer patients.
The Leeton branch of Can Assist has been walking every Monday and Friday morning during August.
Leeton branch president Sandra Watson said it was a fundraiser with multiple benefits, saying the group has been participating in the initiative for the past two years.
“This initiative has been a great fundraiser for our branch,” she said.
“Not only are we raising money to help people with cancer, we might actually improve our own fitness.
“We really appreciate the great generosity of the Leeton community towards Can Assist and we urge everyone to get on board with this different way of fundraising.”
