The Harden Red Devils had a very successful fund-raising day for Can Assist, raising over $7,000 with their annual golf day. The day saw over 100 people head to the country day with their clubs in one hand and a beer in the other in what was the most successful golf day yet.

President of the Red Devils Charlie Brown was very pleased with how the day went. “It’s the biggest one so far. When Harry Sachs was involved he loved his golf and he started up a little golf day for the season kick off and it grew a little bit and then it grew to be “oh well we’ll just donate the money” and we donated to a couple of different charities to start with and then the last two or three years we’ve got a lot better cause and we donated the money we made off it to Can Assist.

“It’s grown to not just be a Harden Red Devils season opening golf day, now it’s Harden Red Devils raising money for Can Assist golf day. It’s fairly well intwined and hopefully something we can do for a long time.

“We have fantastic sponsors. The day to day running of the club and getting the team on the park we are lucky to be growing with our sponsorship numbers every year, which then gives us a chance to not only run the footy club and run the footy club well and grow the footy club, but it also gives us a chance to give back.
