Can Assist Tumut celebrates 40 years in style

Can Assist Tumut celebrated 40 years of helping those affected by cancer with a lavish, fun ball at Tumut Golf Club on Saturday night.
Just under 150 got along, including Can Assist Executive Director Emma Phillips and Wagga MP Dr Joe McGirr. Emma Peacock handled MC duties with aplomb, while Platinum Duo provide the music.
“It was just wonderful and the outstanding support really blew us away,” Can Assist Tumut publicity officer/secretary Deb Robinson said.
“It was wonderful to see everybody dressed up and they all enjoyed themselves. They were all dancing to the last song, which was a good sign.”
Can Assist Tumut had its first meeting on August 1, 1984. They will be continuing their anniversary celebrations with an afternoon tea at the Riverside Café on October 19.
Can Assist Tumut is celebrating 40 years of assisting people with Cancer in Tumut, Batlow, Adelong and Talbingo.
