Armidale Branch Summer 2025-26 Highlights

Our Branch has commenced the year with energy and positivity. We are happy to report an increase in membership, which we believe reflects the vibrancy, connectedness and welcoming spirit of our Branch and its members.

We continue to be held in high regard within the local community. As a result, we have been the grateful recipients of generous donations from businesses, organisations and members of the public. This support enables us to continue our important work assisting those in need.

Our Committee has declared 2026 as our “Year of Advocacy.” Throughout the year, we aim to further raise awareness in Armidale about the practical financial assistance we can provide to cancer patients following a diagnosis. Increasing community understanding of our services is a key priority.

To raise our profile, members have been regularly manning a stand at the Sunday Markets, distributing brochures and engaging with the public about the support we offer. These conversations have been invaluable in spreading the word about our work.

The Committee also organised and presented at a Rotary meeting, outlining how we assist those experiencing financial hardship due to cancer. This initiative resulted in a substantial donation from the Club. Following this successful presentation, we have been invited to speak at a second Rotary Club in Armidale.

In addition, our Branch arranged and funded a visit from the Skin Cancer Foundation Truck to Armidale for two days. During this time, more than 100 free skin checks were conducted. Our members set up and staffed an information stand outside the van, further promoting our services and engaging with the community.

At each of these events, we were also pleased to support Head Office by successfully selling numerous tickets in the ASX Car Raffle.

We look forward to building on this momentum throughout our Year of Advocacy and continuing to make a meaningful difference in our community.
