This will be a special moment for our organisation. It will be the first time in many years that leaders from across our Branch network come together in one room to focus on the future of Can Assist. The day is being designed to be practical, collaborative and inspiring, with the goal that Branch leaders leave with ideas, tools and connections that strengthen the impact you and your Branch are having in your communities.

⏰ What you can expect

We are planning a kick off dinner from 5.30pm on Thursday 21 May, providing a relaxed opportunity to meet and connect with fellow Branch leaders from across the state. Conference sessions will take place on Friday 22 May and conclude by 4.30pm, allowing time for those who need to catch regional flights to travel home that evening. Alternatively, if you wish to stay a little longer, you may choose to enjoy the weekend in Sydney, with the Vivid light festival starting on Fri 22 May, which is one of the highlights on the Sydney calendar.

Topics we will explore together include:

• The growing need for support among cancer patients across country NSW and how we can extend our reach
• Strategies to recruit and retain the next generation of volunteers
• New tools and support that will make fundraising and Branch administration easier
• Marketing and awareness initiatives to strengthen local impact and referrals
• Practical fundraising support from Head Office + ideas and emerging opportunities for accessing funds
• Open discussion with Branch leaders about priorities, challenges and opportunities for the future of Can Assist

  I know that travelling to Sydney requires time and expense and we do not ask lightly. However this gathering will play an important role in shaping the next chapter of Can Assist and ensuring our Branch network remains strong, supported and connected.
