West Wyalong BRANCH
Murrumbidgee Region
Can Assist West Wyalong was formed in 1988. The branch is committed to the local community and to the people who seek our assistance. As volunteers, we are like minded in our mission to raise local for it to stay local. We meet monthly and enjoy the fellowship created by our various fundraising events. We have established a strong partnership with many organisations and service groups which has enabled our branch to extend our support to the smaller villages within the Bland Shire.
Areas Serviced: Barmedman, Mirrool, Naradhan, Tallimba, Weethalle, West Wyalong, Wyalong
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.
Purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, with the support of local and regional communities, it is managed by Can Assist. The 21 bed lodge is a warm and supportive home away from home.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

If Karen and her husband were living in any other state or territory in the country they would have received a higher rebate – in fact, up to $72 a night higher.
On average, a resident of country NSW will receive $42.32c less a night than the rest of the country. What a disgrace!
Thank you Dr Joe McGirr MP and Helen Dalton MP for helping to bring this injustice to light.
