Werris Creek BRANCH

Hunter New England Region

Assisting our community, locally…

ABOUT US

Can Assist Werris Creek was formed in 2009. Our branch covers the Liverpool Plains including Quirindi and surrounding areas of the northern inland. We have a committed group who raise funds by holding garage sales and spend countless hours catering at horse events. All money raised supports people with cancer in our area.

Areas Serviced: Ardglen, Blackville, Bundella, Caroona, Colly Blue, Coomoo Coomoo, Currabubula, Little Jacks Creek, Parraweena, Quirindi, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah, Warrah, Warrah Creek, Werris Creek, Willow Tree, Windy, Yannergee

Financial Assistance

We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.

Our Supporters

Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and supporters both from within the community and further afield. Can Assist expresses our thanks.

Great advocacy work by Can Assist for country cancer patients, at NSW Parliament House! It was a privilege today to provide feedback from our Can Assist community network, alongside Royal Far West Manly Sydney NSW, to the NSW State’s Select Committee on Remote, Rural and Regional Health. They are conducting an inquiry into the implementation of recommendations specifically relating to workforce issues, workplace culture and funding considerations for remote, rural and regional health.

Thanks, Ms Skinner! Can Assist always appreciates when someone chooses to include Can Assist as a beneficiary in their will.

With one recent bequest from a lady named Ms Skinner, we have already in this financial year been able to relieve the burden of accommodation costs for four country families when staying in Sydney to support their loved ones when receiving cancer treatment. Can Assist's network is so grateful for Ms Skinner's thoughtfulness in planning a bequest within her will.

We ensure the benefactors' lasting legacy will meet their wishes in supporting country cancer patients in NSW. Need more information?
