ABOUT US
Can Assist Tumut was formed in 1984. We are a group of community minded people who raise money to assist locals who are undergoing treatment for cancer. We provide assistance to cancer patients in the Batlow, Tumut, Adelong and Talbingo area. This assistance includes but is not limited to fuel, travel expenses, accommodation and pharmacy.

Financial Assistance
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Accommodation Assistance
Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.
Purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, with the support of local and regional communities, it is managed by Can Assist. The 21 bed lodge is a warm and supportive home away from home.

🗓️ Tumut, put a free skin check in your diary! ☀️🧴
We know early detection is key when it comes to skin cancer, and with melanoma rates among the highest in regional and rural NSW, regular skin checks are especially important for our communities. That’s why we’re so pleased to help bring this important service to Tumut, making it easier for our local community to access a skin check close to home. 💚
This October, the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation’s mobile skin check truck will be visiting Tumut for five days.
It’s been made possible through a wonderful local partnership between Can Assist Tumut, TUMUT HOSPITAL AUXILIARY, Rotary Club of Tumut and Batlow-Adelong Hospital Auxiliary.
🚚 The high-tech mobile clinic will offer free, state-of-the-art 3D skin checking and an onboard biopsy room
📍 The Mobile Skin Check Clinic will be stationed at the rear of Tumut Hospital.
📅 Bookings will open in early October, with more information to come.
