Tumbarumba BRANCH
Murrumbidgee Region
Can Assist Tumbarumba was formed in 2004. We are a group of community minded people who raise money to assist locals who are undergoing treatment for cancer. We meet monthly and hold fundraising activities including street stalls and wood raffles. There are many money boxes located throughout the community and these are well supported by everyone.
Areas Serviced: Rosewood, Tooma, Tumbarumba
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.
Purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, with the support of local and regional communities, it is managed by Can Assist. The 21 bed lodge is a warm and supportive home away from home.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

Can Assist effectiveness, collaboration and hard work in our submission clearly identifies the problems and they are agreed here in the findings . Now is the time to concentrate and actively work all together on the solutions. Our communities have stepped up and have been finally heard. Can Assist continue to fulfil our role in supporting those in need.” Vicki Meyer, President and Chair of Can Assist
We draw specific reference to recommendation 2 regarding IPTAAS –and encourage swift government action.

Well done to all involved.Today we received a very generous donation of $2000 from Widdy Ballard & Vera Manns.
Widdy & Vera have been tirelessly collecting cans and bottles to raise funds for the community. This amazing donation equates to 20,000 bottles or cans being cashed in.
A huge thank you to Widdy & Vera. 😊
