ABOUT US
Can Assist Port Macquarie was re-established in September 2026 after recognising the need in our community. Cancer hits any one at any time, without warning and can place huge financial strain on individuals and families. The Port Macquarie Branch Committee consists of dedicated volunteers who have all been impacted by cancer and understand how a cancer diagnosis affects people. Working hard to raise funds locally, we are able to offer financial support to community members with costs associated when having to travel for cancer treatment.
Areas Serviced: Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills, Camden Haven area, Kew, Kendall, Thrumster, Wauchope, Northshore and surrounding areas.
Financial Assistance
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Our Supporters
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. At this time we need support both in volunteer time to run the branch and in fundraising dollars to assist with supporting those with a cancer diagnosis.

We’re thrilled to announce that ticket sales have officially closed for the Can Assist Port Macquarie launch!
We can’t wait to welcome all you wonderful people to The Stunned Mullet tomorrow evening for what promises to be an incredible night filled with amazing food, drinks and live music.
We’re also delighted to welcome Can Assist CEO Nici Andronicus and Board Member Natalie Phillips as our special guests for the evening.

Can Assist Port Macquaire Branch offers local care, practical support and community spirit for Port Macquarie patients.
Our branch was re-established in September 2026 after a group of passionate locals recognised the need for cancer support in their community.
For Branch Committee members Mal and Alison, bringing Can Assist back to Port Macquarie is more than just a community initiative - it's deeply personal. Mal understands first-hand the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on individuals and their loved ones, and how much practical support can mean during such a challenging time.
Having received assistance from Can Assist himself, Mal and Alison were inspired to give back and help ensure other local families could access the same support when they need it most.
Today, alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, the Port Macquarie Branch is working hard to raise funds locally so people affected by cancer can receive practical financial assistance, particularly with the costs of travelling for treatment.
Because when cancer touches someone in our community, no one should have to face the journey alone. That's what Can Assist Port Macquarie is here for.
