Junee BRANCH
Murrumbidgee Region
Can Assist Junee was formed in 1991. Our branch is dedicated to supporting anyone in the Junee Local Government area affected by cancer. We understand that following a cancer diagnosis, clients can struggle with the associated medical costs. We are able to do this through wonderful volunteers giving their time to raise much needed funds. Our aim is to maintain that all funds raised local remains local. Supporting Junee Can Assist is vital for our community, through donating money or volunteering time to make our fund-raising events a success.
Areas Serviced: Bethungra, Dirnaseer, Erin Vale, Eurongilly, Harefield, Junee, Junee Reefs, Marinna, Marrar, Nangus, Old Junee, Wantabadgerry, Wantiool, Yathella
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.
Purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, with the support of local and regional communities, it is managed by Can Assist. The 21 bed lodge is a warm and supportive home away from home.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.
Lilier Lodge
Located in Wagga Wagga, Lilier Lodge provides relaxing and homely accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment to nearby facilities. They understand the specific needs of cancer patients and their carers.
Areas Serviced: Bethungra, Dirnaseer, Erin Vale, Eurongilly, Harefield, Junee, Junee Reefs, Marinna, Marrar, Nangus, Old Junee, Wantabadgerry, Wantiool, Yathella
5 year old Tommy Gill from Glen Innes woke up very pale in colour and with notable bruising.
After a visit to the doctor, he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that afternoon and diagnosed with Leukemia.
This was the beginning of a long treatment journey.
Distance should be no barrier to treatment. Can Assist supports rural and regional cancer patients across NSW access treatment.

A massive couple of days preparing to cater for the Illabo Melodrama.
Thank you to our ladies who spent hours preparing food on Friday and then our ladies and gents who cooked food, plated food, served food to 180 people and then washed lots of dishes.
Thank you to the Illabo Melodrama Group for inviting us to cater.
Last but not least - thank you to Michael and Natalie Phillips, Peter, Wilma and Bree from The Crossing Motel for also preparing lots of the yummy food and pointing us in the right direction. We are most grateful for the support you provide to our local Can Assist branch.
I hope everyone who helped isn’t too exhausted and enjoyed what we did to support our local families. 💕😀 ... See MoreSee Less
