Gunnedah BRANCH
Hunter New England Region
Can Assist Gunnedah was formed in 1958. The small group of passionate volunteers tirelessly fundraise to allow the branch to assist local community members who are affected by cancer. New members are always welcome! We are considered a “Ray of Sunshine” in an often bleak time for many.
Areas Serviced: Boggabri, Carroll, Curlewis, Gunnedah, Mullaley
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

5 year old Tommy Gill from Glen Innes woke up very pale in colour and with notable bruising.
After a visit to the doctor, he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that afternoon and diagnosed with Leukemia.
This was the beginning of a long treatment journey.
Distance should be no barrier to treatment. Can Assist supports rural and regional cancer patients across NSW access treatment.

Hope you didn’t get too cold.❤️
Thanks to the power of our Community, Gunnedah Can Assist has been named as one of Essential Energy’s Community Choices Champions for 2022.
Community members have voted to provide Gunnedah Can Assist with a little extra support which will help our branch continue to financially assist local people who are affected by cancer whilst undergoing treatment.
We are so grateful for the $1100 funding we have received through Essential Energy’s Community Choices Program.
Thank you again Essential Energy!!
