ABOUT US

Can Assist Gundagai was formed in 1985. We assist with costs associated with travel for cancer treatment which may take the form of petrol vouchers, the costs of transport in the community car, travel by rail or air. The branch also makes financial contribution towards accommodation for cancer patients when under going treatment, for example at Lilier Lodge, Wagga Wagga or wherever the treatment centre may be. The costs of medications and dietary supplements may also be subsidised by the branch.

Areas Serviced: Bongalong, Bongongalong, Brungle, Brungle Creek, Burra Creek, Darbalara, Edwardstown, Gundagai, Jackalass, Jones Creek, Muttama, Nangus, Reno, South Gundagai, Tarrabandra, Wagragobilly, Willie Ploma

Financial Assistance

We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.

Lilier Lodge

Accommodation Assistance

Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, together with the support of local and regional communities.

Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.

Our Supporters

Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

Another successful annual Gundagai Ladies Golf Club Open Charity Golf Day. Last Wednesday, 1 March 2023, the golfers hosted their annual charity day and by all reports, it was a great success and a lot of fun.

A huge thank you to the Ladies Golf Club for kindly donating $3,000 to our local branch. Your ongoing support is much appreciated.

How special is this recent donation?

Last year the students at Nangus Public School raised funds for a number of different charities. One student was passionate about Can Assist Gundagai being one of them. The Year 6 Fundraising project donated $300 to our local branch and we are most grateful.

A huge thank you to the Nangus Public School community!!!

The Gundagai Ladies Golf Club is hosting its annual Open Charity Golf Day next Wednesday, 1 March 2023. Each year the ladies generously raise funds for Can Assist Gundagai and by all reports, it's always a fun day out.

Get involved and play in the 9-hole person ambrose or just go for the 2-course luncheon. Bookings are essential. As outlined below please book by Saturday 25 March at the Golf Pro Shop.

In addition to the golf day, you can come down and play lawn bowls. Some of the local bowlers will be around, so playing bowls before joining the luncheon is another way to get involved. Bowlers must also register their names with Jarrod at the Golf Pro Shop.
