ABOUT US

Can Assist Gundagai was formed in 1985. We assist with costs associated with travel for cancer treatment which may take the form of petrol vouchers, the costs of transport in the community car, travel by rail or air. The branch also makes financial contribution towards accommodation for cancer patients when under going treatment, for example at Lilier Lodge, Wagga Wagga or wherever the treatment centre may be. The costs of medications and dietary supplements may also be subsidised by the branch.

Areas Serviced: Bongalong, Bongongalong, Brungle, Brungle Creek, Burra Creek, Darbalara, Edwardstown, Gundagai, Jackalass, Jones Creek, Muttama, Nangus, Reno, South Gundagai, Tarrabandra, Wagragobilly, Willie Ploma

Financial Assistance

We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.

Lilier Lodge

Accommodation Assistance

Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, together with the support of local and regional communities.

Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.

Our Supporters

Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

A big thanks to Leanne & Andy Bell for their fundraising efforts when hosting an Open Garden Day at their gorgeous home, S.Jay, recently. Their generosity has resulted in $1,683.75 being donated to our local Can Assist Gundagai branch.

Thanks too to the Gundagai Lions Club for organising another successful Open Gardens Day in Gundagai. It's always a great local fundraiser and a beautiful way to show off so many local gardens at once.

A massive thanks to the hosts of 'Lottie's Memorial Masters 2022'. So many turned up to play golf and bowls and raise funds in Ben's memory. Final figures are to be determined, but so many people were so very generous. Thanks everyone for your support on the day, the raffles and auctions were a great success. Tom's daughter, Karina Wells, has registered for the CAN DO Challenge and is supporting Can Assist Gundagai.

In 2011 Karina ran the City to Surf raising around $2,000 for Can Assist Gundagai. You can help her beat this amount by clicking the link below to donate.
