Griffith BRANCH

Murrumbidgee Region

Assisting our community, locally…

ABOUT US

Can Assist Griffith was formed in 1984. We are committed to ensuring that all Griffith people have access to cancer treatment and care. By providing accommodation, financial assistance and practical support we ensure that Griffith people are given the same opportunities and treatment choices as those who live in city centres.

Areas Serviced: Beelbangera, Bilbul, Binya, Darlington Point, Griffith, Hanwood, Rankin Springs, Tharbogang, Wumbugal, Yenda, Yoogali

Financial Assistance

We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.

Lilier Lodge

Accommodation Assistance

Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, together with the support of local and regional communities.

Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.

Our Supporters

Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

Can Assist

Our President and Chair of The Can Assist Board, Jacko, asks for your support this tax year. He volunteers his time with Can Assist as he has seen first hand how country people in NSW face greater challenges and shorter life spans compared to their city counterparts when battling cancer. Many have to travel thousands of miles for treatment, away from their families and support systems.

Join Jacko and help us make a difference to Can Assist families managing cancer.

Every donation helps us provide vital assistance to country patients and their families. Donations over $2 are tax-deductible, so let's keep our beacon of hope shining bright.

Can Assist

Have you ever wondered how cancer treatment impacts people in the country?

Walk in her shoes.

For Teann’s cancer treatments, she doesn’t just pop out for a couple of hours — it’s a full day each time, requiring an 8-hour round trip and forcing her to miss work.

As the end of the financial year approaches, your support is crucial. By donating to Can Assist, you can help ease the burden for country cancer patients like Teann, who have to travel immense distances for vital treatment and then manage the impacts that distance has financially.

Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible. Let’s ensure that no one fights cancer alone, no matter how far they have to travel.

Can Assist

Meet Peter. He discovered he had prostate cancer through a simple blood test he learned about from a local health campaign. Early detection was crucial for his treatment and recovery.

This Men's Health Week, we encourage all men to stay on top of their health checks. There's a much higher chance of beating cancer when it's found early. Don't leave it to chance—get tested.

Hear Peter's story of detection. Can Assist then helped Peter. Please make a tax deductible donation today so we can assist more men whatever the cancer, whatever the age wherever they live in country NSW.

Head to the link below to donate today.💛
