DENILIQUIN BRANCH

Murrumbidgee Region

Assisting our community, locally…

ABOUT US

The Deniliquin Can Assist branch was established in 2017, after a couple of local community members recognised a gap in cancer support services in the local Deniliquin region.  The branch has a fabulous committee, made up of like minded people who want to ensure that community members affected by cancer can be provided with some financial assistance to make their situation a little easier.  The branch is well supported by the community, who donate generously and help with fundraising efforts. Confidentially is incredibly important and patient details are only held by the patient liaison officer.

Areas Serviced: Barratta, Benarca, Birganbigil, Booroorban, Brassi, Caldwell, Calimo, Conargo, Coree, Cornalla, Deniliquin, Gulpa, Hartwood, Hill Plain, Jimaringle, Lindifferon, Mathoura, Mayrung, Moira, Moonahcullah, Moonbria, Morago, Pretty Pine, Steam Plains, Stud Park, Wakool, Wandook, Wanganella, Warragoon, Willurah, Yallakool

Financial Assistance

We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.

Lilier Lodge

Accommodation Assistance

Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, together with the support of local and regional communities.

Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital.

Our Supporters

Our Branch would not exist without our members, volunteers and community supporters. We thank them for their contribution.

Great advocacy work by Can Assist for country cancer patients, at NSW Parliament House! It was a privilege today to provide feedback from our Can Assist community network, alongside Royal Far West Manly Sydney NSW, to the NSW State’s Select Committee on Remote, Rural and Regional Health. They are conducting an inquiry into the implementation of recommendations specifically relating to workforce issues, workplace culture and funding considerations for remote, rural and regional health.

Great job! Well done.

Now this is something to warm your hearts! 💛

What an absolutely incredible result from George Bull, Anna Suckling and the team at Deniliquin North Public School, from their Under the Stars Movie Night on Friday.

George was the young man behind the idea as he wanted to raise some funds for our local branch.

Not only was it a fun night out for everyone, but they managed to raise $6,105.10!

Well done and thank you George, maybe we’ll have to enlist you as our next fundraising coordinator! ⭐️
